Overview
Omnivore is a powerful integration app that automates creating and updating product listings across multiple marketplaces while seamlessly syncing orders back to your eCommerce store for fulfillment.
After installing the app, Omnivore imports your products from your eCommerce store, allowing you to select which items to list on each marketplace.
You can also modify product details within Omnivore—such as pricing or titles—without affecting your original eCommerce store listings. This flexibility helps optimise product visibility and sales potential on different marketplaces.
Omnivore keeps product listings and inventory in sync with your eCommerce store through regular full syncs and real-time product or inventory updates, depending on your platform's capabilities.
Dashboard
The Omnivore dashboard provides a concise summary of your products and orders.
In the Products section, you can quickly identify the number of listed and unlisted products, along with the reasons for any listing issues.
The Orders section provides a summary of received orders and alerts you to any issues that require your attention.
You can also view a list of your top-selling products on each marketplace.
The Omnivore dashboard contains valuable insights, so we recommend taking the time to explore its features thoroughly.
Product syncing
If your ecommerce store is Shopify, BigCommerce, WooCommerce and Maropost, Omnivore will do a full sync of all products once every 7 days, usually on a Saturday night around midnight. All product information such as price, inventory, description, images and title are updated.
In between the full sync, products and inventory are kept up to date in almost ‘real time’. If you change the inventory Omnivore will update the product listing on each Marketplace.
The weekly full sync and ‘real time’ updates ensure all products are kept up to date.
If your ecommerce store is Magento (this applies to v1 and v2) Omnivore will do a full sync of all products once every day, usually overnight around midnight. All product information such as price, inventory, description, images and title are updated.
It will sync inventory changes throughout the day every 20 minutes (at best) to 60 minutes depending on the number of products you have. Timing depends on each Marketplace, the total number of products in Magento and the number of inventory changes you have.
For example, if you have around 3,000 products with 200 products requiring an inventory update to the marketplace this will take around 15-20 minutes and will happen every 20 minutes provided the first inventory sync has completed.
Managing and listing products
How to List Products
To list a product on a marketplace you need to map it to a marketplace category (i.e choose a marketplace category to list the product in). Each marketplace has a unique set of categories.
For more information on how to do this, see the Category Mapping FAQs.
Note: Listings won't go live until you click "Start Selling" in Omnivore. The "Start Selling" option will appear on the Dashboard as you map your products to the correct marketplace categories. Note, you have the option to only map the products you want to list, as opposed to having to map all products.
How to Block Products
If you have products that you don’t want to list on any given Marketplace, you can block them. There are a number of ways to block (or unblock) products.
Single products: To block products go to the Products page from the left-hand nav. Search for the product(s) you want to block. Check the box then from the ‘Actions’ menu, choose Block all selected.
Block by Keyword: To block products by keyword, go to ‘Settings – Marketplace Name - General’ then scroll down to Product Exclusions.
Bulk Block: There is also a bulk block or unblock feature. Go to 'Products - Bulk Block'.
How to End a Listing
To end a product that is listed on a Marketplace, find the product and go to the page with the full product information. Scroll down and click the ‘End Listing’ button.
You can also block products that are listed and this will also end the listing on the Marketplace.
Product Listing Errors
Occasionally, not all products will be listed on a marketplace. If we encounter an issue while listing your products, each marketplace will return a validation error. These errors can be found under "Have Listing Errors - Fix Now" in the Dashboard.
By clicking on the listing errors section, you'll see a detailed list of the errors explaining why the product(s) couldn't be listed.
Stock Buffer
To prevent overselling products with low inventory, we recommend using a stock buffer. You can set it up under 'Settings – Administration.' When a stock buffer is applied, the quantity shown on each marketplace will reflect your inventory minus the stock buffer value.
Additionally, you can create a stock buffer product action to apply the buffer to a group of products on some marketplaces but not others.
Optimising Sales Using Pricing
If you'd like to set different prices for your products on the marketplace compared to your eCommerce store (e.g., increase or decrease the price), you can use the Promotions feature.
From the left-hand navigation, select 'Promotions – Add New.'
You can apply a pricing rule to a specific group of SKUs or to all products.

Customised Product Titles
To increase your chances of making sales with Omnivore, it's recommended to optimise your product titles with keywords like the brand name, color, size etc. However, you may not want to include this information in your ecommerce store titles.
In Omnivore, you can edit an individual product title for each marketplace. Go to 'Products – All Products,' and in the table on the right-hand side, you'll find a column labelled 'Product Title on Marketplace Name.' Click the title to edit and save it.
You can also create a rule to update all product titles. Go to 'Settings – Feeds,' and in the Product Name field, enter the rule you want to apply.

Product Description Template
In some cases, such as when shipping products from overseas, you may need to add a disclaimer to every listing on a marketplace to inform customers about potential duties or taxes.
For example, "This item is sold by <Insert your store name>, an offshore business located in <your location>, and may incur customs duty or tax."
To add this or any other message to your product descriptions across all listings, go to ‘Settings – Marketplace Name – General.’

Orders
Omnivore checks the Marketplace for orders every 10 minutes. Once the order is made available Omnivore will import it and send it through to your ecommerce store for fulfilment.
If Omnivore is unable to send the order through to ecommerce, you will receive an email notification and a message will appear in the dashboard under the Orders section on the right.
You will be able to click through to the order and see what the issue is and what you need to do to resolve it. For example, it may be as simple as correcting a mismatching postcode.
We will check your eCommerce store every 2 hours to see if the status of the order has changed to Shipped. Once the order has been marked as shipped in your eCommerce store, Omnivore will then be updated.
Shipping
Shipping options vary depending on each marketplace.
Omnivore provides shipping setup options and easy-to-follow documentation to help you configure shipping according to each marketplace's requirements.
At a minimum, you’ll need one shipping policy. You can set any charge amount or offer free shipping. You can also choose whether to charge for additional items if a customer buys more than one product.
With weight-based shipping, you can charge different amounts depending on the weight of your products.
Using Product Groups, you can create categories of products (based on criteria like weight, price, retailer, marketplace category, or brand) and apply a unique shipping policy to each group.
Related FAQs for Shipping can be found by clicking on each marketplace name, e.g. Selling on Amazon.
Payment methods
Payment methods are determined by each marketplace and are not set in Omnivore.
It’s recommended to follow each marketplace's rules and setup guides to ensure everything is configured correctly.
Currency conversions
If you're a seller based outside the marketplace's country (e.g., an Australian seller selling on Trade Me in NZ), we'll first remove any taxes and then convert your price to the marketplace currency using the daily exchange rate from Google.
You also have the option to set your own custom exchange rate in Omnivore.
