Overview
The Lasoo Marketplace has a Basic Domestic Cart Level shipping option that is set to ON or OFF within Lasoo.
Before you continue please determine this ON / OFF setting within your Marketplace Seller Account setting.
This will govern how you add your Shipping Policies into Omnivore.
Within Lasoo you can set the following:
- Base Rate
- Free Shipping threshold
- Limit delivery to certain postcodes
Option 1 - base rate set to ON
- If set to ON, take note of the shipping cost amount.
- In Omnivore navigate to Settings - Lasoo - Shipping and click Add Shipping Policy.
- Name your policy eg. Standard Shipping, tick the default box if this is to be your default policy.
- Leave the cost set to 0.00 if you want to maintain the amount you have for Shipping within Lasoo. If you do add a dollar value in Omnivore it will be added on to the shipping cost you already have set in Lasoo.
- For example, if the basic domestic cart level shipping in Lasoo is $10 and you make your Omnivore policy $5 your total cost for shipping will be $15.
- Click Create.
Option 2 - base rate set to OFF
- If set to OFF. This means you are not using the Basic Shipping at Cart Level in Lasoo so any shipping cost in Lasoo with be 0.00.
- Follow steps 2-6 above to setup your Shipping Policies in Omnivore.
- In this case you will need to apply some costs within Omnivore, if the amount is set to $0.00 we will assume the shipping is set to FREE.
- So if you want $15 dollar shipping add that amount into the Omnivore Policies.
- Remember if at any time in the future you do turn Basic Domestic Cart Level shipping ON in Lasoo and you add an amount, your cost in Omnivore will be added to any cost you add in Lasoo.
Option 3 (Applying Product Groups)
- After you have created one default Shipping Policy in Omnivore that does NOT have a Product Group attached you can then create a second Policy and add a Product Group to it.
- It is advised to have the default policy not assigned to a group.
- You can learn how to create a product group using the FAQ listed below.
- Using the Product Group you created, follow steps 2-6 above in the first section, when creating your policy in Omnivore be sure to add your Product Group from the drop down list.
- This assigns that Policy to that Group only.
- Click Create.
- Typically if you are using this Shipping Setup with Product Groups in Omnivore Lasoo has a base rate set to 0.00, again check in Lasoo what your base rate is.
Multi-product Purchases
If a seller purchases a products that is in an Omnivore Product Group the shipping price will stack with each unit sold. Eg, a picture frame has a shipping cost of $5, two frames will be shipping cost $10.
Testing, Key Points, Additional Reading
- Because all products must have shipping applied, the first level of testing is determined when the products are pushed up to the marketplace. If the shipping is not correct Omnivore will generate an error, we can tweak any settings as required.
- Shipping Setup is part of the overall check list before start selling is clicked.
- If any prices are incorrect with shipping they can be easily adjusted.
