Duplicate Listings on eBay — What This Means and How to Fix It
eBay does not allow multiple active listings for the same item. If eBay detects duplicate listings from your account, they may remove or block affected listings. You may also receive a notification directly from eBay about the issue.
eBay's full Duplicate Listings Policy can be found here
Below are the most common reasons this happens and how to resolve them in Omnivore.
Why Duplicate Listings Occur
Duplicate listings can happen for several reasons:
Listing the same product across multiple eBay Seller Accounts
If you operate more than one eBay account and list identical products on each, eBay may treat these as duplicates.
Creating manual listings directly on eBay
If you manually create listings on eBay and also list the same products through Omnivore/eBay LINK, eBay may flag them as duplicates.
Changing product identifiers (SKU, MPN, UPC etc.)
If you change key product identifiers in your eCommerce platform or Omnivore, the system may treat the product as new and attempt to create a fresh listing, resulting in duplication.
Duplicate products in your source store
If the same product exists twice in your Shopify, BigCommerce or WooCommerce store (e.g., duplicated SKUs or imported products), Omnivore will submit both to eBay.
How to Fix Duplicate Listing Issues
Check for manually created eBay listings
Log in to eBay and search for the affected item.
If you find a listing that did not come from Omnivore/eBay LINK, end that listing directly on eBay.
Ensure each product has a unique SKU
eBay requires every active or scheduled listing to have a unique SKU.
If your products share SKUs or you recently changed them, update your store data so each SKU is unique.
Avoid listing identical products on multiple eBay accounts
If you must list across more than one account, ensure the listings differ meaningfully (e.g., different bundles, quantities, or conditions).
Remove duplicate products from your store
If duplicates exist in your online store, remove them so Omnivore only receives one version.
